Pilates Reformer is a training method that combines the principles and movements of Pilates Matwork with the Reformer machine. The Reformer is an apparatus consisting of a sliding carriage equipped with adjustable springs, a footbar (platform) and a strap system. All these components work together to create a unique resistance system, as the carriage is pushed or pulled along the frame, which allows for a wide range of exercises.
Pilates Reformer is the most famous and used apparatus in the Pilates method. It was invented by Joseph Pilates during World War I. The original function of the Reformer was to allow soldiers confined to bed to follow a rehabilitation path without having to stand. In fact, the idea behind Pilates Reformer is to form a new body, to reform it universally.
Pilates Reformer is suitable for all people, regardless of age or fitness level. Each session can be customized based on the specific needs of the individual.
