Postural Gymnastics is a specific gymnastics based on a set of targeted exercises to improve body posture, prevent or alleviate muscle pain, improve flexibility and strengthen deep muscles. This discipline is based on the correct execution of exercises, which must be slow, precise and controlled. Postural gymnastics can be practiced with a preventive, rehabilitative or pain-relief approach.
Postural gymnastics was born in Europe in the first half of the 20th century. It is not a monolithic discipline but is based on a set of approaches. The mother of this discipline is considered the French physiotherapist Françoise Mézières. The work of Philippe Souchard, a physiotherapist specialized in osteopathy, was also crucial in the development and growth of this discipline.
Postural gymnastics can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness levels.

Postural Gymnastics is generally a safe type of activity for most people. Caution is needed in case of pregnancy, hernias or protrusions, muscle pain or other pathologies.
