Strength
CrossFit is a type of high-intensity training that incorporates a wide range of functional exercises and movements derived from various sports disciplines, such as gymnastics, weightlifting, athletics and cardio. Its main goal is to develop strength, endurance and flexibility through a series of different exercises, often performed in timed sequences or for the maximum number of repetitions possible in a given period of time. Each workout is divided into four phases: warm up/mobility, skill/strength, workout of day (WOD) and recovery/flexibility.
Cross training is a fitness discipline created and patented by Greg Glassman in the United States in the Seventies. Glassman created a training program that combined exercises from different disciplines in order to create a complete and functional fitness experience. It only gained popularity 20 years later when the first box-gym was opened in Santa Cruz, California. Since then, Cross Training has become a global trend with the birth of thousands of gyms around the world.
Cross Training is suitable for anyone interested in improving their overall fitness. Both professional athletes and beginners can practice it, as exercises can be adapted to different abilities and fitness levels.
